Namibian Inter-School Public Speaking Competition

With the atmosphere filled with excitement, the evening of the Inter-School Public Speaking Competition was not a night to forget!
Hosted at Windhoek Gymnasium's Club House on the 16th of July 2019, schools such as DHPS, WHS, Windhoek Gymnasium, Otjiwarongo Secondary, St. Georges and Elnatan were all gathered and ready for the event ahead. The Inter-School Speaking Competition is an opportunity for those students who qualified as their schools’ best English speakers.

Not many children get the opportunity to pursue such dreams, therefore, it was a chance for us students to move the audience with our words. A chance to express ourselves through speaking.
Their passionate speeches transformed the mindsets of the audience while their vibrant personalities shone through at the same time.

"What I learned is that in order to move an audience with just your words, you need to be yourself and be truly authentic. You can only transform and change the perspective of others when you are yourself. ", says DHPS participant Samantha Majiedt (9d).

Unfortunately our learners did not win the speech competition but we are incredibly proud of their professional speeches and performances on stage.
