Internship in teaching profession
We look forward to receive your application for an internship at the DHPS primary & secondary school for the following dates:
  • March 2027 / September 2027
  • Internship period: 6-12 months

What would we expect from you:
  • Applicants should already have started with their teaching studies and ideally have gained their first practical experience in lesson preparation and design.
  • Generally, all students with any subject combination can apply.
  • For an internship in the secondary level, sound English reading and writing skills are required.
  • Please remember: at the DHPS, subjects like chemistry, biology, mathematics are taught in English as from grade 10.
  • Voluntary practicals are possible before the internship.
  • Accommodation is provided by the school: meals and accommodation free of charge during school time.

Internship in the area of language support at the DHPS Kinder-Campus, our baby group, kindergarten & pre-school

We look forward to receive your application for an internship at the DHPS Kinder-Campus for the following dates:
  • from March 2027
  • Internship duration: 6-12 months

Information on language support at the DHPS Kinder-Campus:
Our school is a German-Namibian school of encounter. Therefore not only multilingualism and a great variety of cultures are in focus, but also the topic of language support from a young age is important to us. Therefore, we are excited to offer internships at the DHPS Kinder-Campus.

The tasks include:
  • Language support with kindergarten and pre-primary children
  • Assistance of our educators at the DHPS Kinder-Campus
What we expect from you:
  • Commitment and enthusiasm for working with children
  • Patience and empathy
  • German at a native speaker level, good English skills are an advantage
What we offer:
  • Free accommodation at our intern house
  • Accompaniment in the recognition internship in teacher training/social pedagogy studies.
Internship in inclusion:
  • Type of internship: Voluntary internship
  • Internship period: 6 - 12 months
  • Start of internship: 1 March or 1 September
Area of employment:
  • Internship in the field of inclusion
  • Support in daily routine and in the classroom

Internship at the DHPS boarding school
We look forward to receive your application for an internship at the DHPS Boarding School for the following dates:

  • March 2027
  • Internship period: 6-12 months


Information on the DHPS boarding school:

Type of internship:
  • Voluntary internship
  • Compulsory internship for social professions (preferably educators/ social pedagogy)
Internship period:
  • 6 or 12 months
  • Start of internship: 1 March or 1 September
Area of employment:
  • Supervision and support of learners at the boarding school, especially in the educational and social areas
  • Support of learners in achieving their educational goals, e.g.
  • homework supervision
  • Guidance of boarding school learners with regard to development
  • Support in development of motor skills especially with regard to active physical movement

DHPS study and career guidance

With the school-leaving qualifications obtained at DHPS, the world is open to our graduates.
The DHPS study and career counselling prepares learners for an apprenticeship, a course of study or a profession locally or abroad and offers advice and support to the school graduates and their parents.
Fixed counselling appointments from grade 10, career fairs and cooperation with study and training partners in Germany and South Africa ensure DHPS learners the best possible preparation for their future and career planning.

The Deutsche Höhere Privatschule Windhoek (DHPS) and the Goethe Institute Namibia are jointly organizing the Career Fair 2026.

This educational fair offers Namibian and international universities, educational institutions, associations, and companies the opportunity to present themselves, give lectures, and recruit young talents.

  • Dates:
    Thursday, 26 February 2026: 14:00 - 18:00
    Friday, 27 February 2026: 8:00 - 14:00 (morning: exclusively for PASCH-Schools!) / 14:00-17:00
    Saturday, 28 February 2026: 9:00 - 13:00
  • Location: DHPS Windhoek, 11-15 Church Street
