State-of-the-art equipment, functionality and accessibility: Since 2018, our gym is shining in a new look and is one of the most modern sports facilities in Namibia. The Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany has financially supported the renovation and expansion of the gym to the tune of 1.2 million euros (almost 17 million NAD). Ample space for movement, barrier-free access, special spectator stands, built-in sports equipment and brand-new technology – for maximum fun in PE classes.
The ideal learning environment in line with international education standards: All our classrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art Smartboards. The media rooms boast professional computer workstations with fast Internet connection. Our learners also enjoy the brand new, ergonomic school furniture.
We attach great importance to a sustainable approach to our environment. This is reflected in the energy-saving solar systems: one for hot-water generation in the boarding school and one for power generation. We also irrigate (only if absolutely necessary) with semi-purified water, recycle all our waste and try to use paper sparingly.
Such a large school campus requires a lot of work and maintenance: the kindergarten & pre-school area were completely restructured and modernised. The Child and Youth Centre was revamped, all sanitary facilities were renovated, our gym shines in a new look and even the stage in our auditorium got a touch up.
Our spacious campus in the heart of Windhoek stands out with sports fields, swimming pool and even our own beach volleyball court. The outdoor premises and playgrounds of the kindergarten, pre-school, boarding school, Child & Youth Centre and pre-school were extensively renovated and equipped with new jungle gyms, sand pits and much more.
Our auditorium meets the latest technology standards: The professional sound technology and audio system is not only a great asset for our technology extra-mural, but also turns every event into a great success. The DHPS auditorium can also be booked for external activities. The DHPS music department - e.g. the brass classes - was equipped with new instruments and the Steinway grand piano has been restored professionally.
