German Language Diploma awarded at DHPS

On 11 April 2023, grade 10-12 learners as well as some of the alumni 2022 at the Deutsche Höhere Privatschule Windhoek (DHPS) finally held the results of their hard work in their hands: Following numerous German lessons, diligent studies and tireless efforts, the young people were awarded their German language diplomas (DSD I & II).
In a festive ceremony, Herbert Beck, German Ambassador to Namibia, Kristin Eichholz, DHPS Principal and German teacher Helga Falk presented the certificates.

The German Language Diploma (DSD) examinations of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany are examinations for learners of German as a foreign language at schools abroad, which are administered by the Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA). DSD II is considered proof of the German language skills required for studying at a German preparatory college or university.

A special feature of the DSD is the comprehensive assessment of all language skills, i.e. learners must pass all areas (listening comprehension, reading comprehension, oral, written communication). The 12 DSD I and 6 DSD II graduates have mastered this with flying colours.

Congratulations, we are proud of you and are looking forward to finding out where your future achievements will take you.
