German Language Diploma awarded at DHPS

On 14 April 2022, learners who attended grades 10 - 12 at the Deutsche Höhere Privatschule Windhoek (DHPS) in 2021, finally held the results of their hard work in their hands: Following numerous German lessons, diligent studies and tireless efforts, the young people were awarded their German language diplomas (DSD I & II).
In a festive ceremony, Ms Clarissa Judmann, representative of the German Embassy in Windhoek, Kristin Eichholz, DHPS Principal and German teachers Gerchia Louw and Thomas Wegener presented the certificates.
„With this diploma in a language as difficult as German, you have proven that you are prepared to achieve more than the average school graduate does", Principal Kristin Eichholz praised the learners at the diploma ceremony. "The DSD is valid for a lifetime and opens important doors not only to universities in Germany, but also to other study and training opportunities.”
The German Language Diploma (DSD) examinations of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany are examinations for learners of German as a foreign language at schools abroad, which are administered by the Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA). DSD II is considered proof of the German language skills required for studying at a German university.
