The Federal-State Inspection (Bund-Länder-Inspektion, BLI) is a joint federal and state initiative to ensure quality and promote development at German schools abroad. It is based on lesson shadowing sessions, document analyses, interviews and surveys. The inspection aims to maintain the high standards of German schools abroad, support their further development and ensure the worldwide comparability of German school qualifications. The ‘Excellent German School Abroad’ seal of approval is also awarded on this basis.
