2020 marked a noteworthy year, also in the Senior Secondary department of the Deutsche Höhere Privatschule Windhoek (DHPS). It was the year the last NSSC learners graduated and the first year the DHPS learners wrote the International General Certificate of Senior Education (IGCSE) examinations in Grade 11.
The Cambridge system for the Grade 10 to 12 learners allows them to obtain an internationally acknowledged school-leaving certificate. This certificate entitles learners to apply for admission to most prominent South African universities and many universities abroad. Additionally, learners can acquire the Matriculation Endorsement upon the completion of their schooling at DHPS.
With a year filled with so many exciting steps in our school’s development, the global pandemic threw an additional curveball our way – online learning. Through determination, hard work and enthusiasm, our teachers and learners became proficient in e-learning. The committed DHPS learners showed their exceptional knowledge, skills and potential while tackling these lessons with a thirst for knowledge.
We are extremely proud of our Grade 11/2020 and their outstanding IGCSE results:- Grade 11 IGCSE learners 2020 achieved a pass rate of 100 %
- 30 % obtained an A average
- 84 % of grades from all subjects better than a C
