DHPS Judoka at SA Open Judo Championships 2025
A strong team from DHPS successfully participated in this year’s SA Open Judo Championships. The young athletes were accompanied and supported by dedicated coaches Stompie Matthyser and Claudia Schlettwein.
In the Kata division, Julia Voigts and Pia Schünemann earned a bronze medal, while Julia also placed 5th together with Lilly Wolf.
Among the Novices – participants competing at the SA Open for the first time – Isabella Cocklin impressed with bronze and Lena Horenburg claimed a gold medal.
In the Advanced category, our judoka showcased their skills:
In the Cadet category, Jana Mutschler, Linus Stritter and Kevin Kröller fought hard but didn’t reach the podium. Nevertheless, they gained valuable experience that will benefit them at next week’s Region 5 Youth Games in Windhoek.
