Cultural Day 2026: Celebrating Unity & Diversity at DHPS

Last Friday, on the final school day before the March holidays, the entire DHPS community – from the Kinder‑Campus to the senior high school – celebrated the Namibian Independence Day and our traditional Cultural Day. It was a day filled with colour, music, traditions and togetherness, showcasing the rich diversity that makes the DHPS so special.

This year’s school‑based programme was organised by the Interact Club. Our dedicated members planned and coordinated the event independently – an outstanding achievement that makes us incredibly proud.
For Grades 1–4, the celebration began with a vibrant fashion show, where learners proudly presented traditional outfits from various cultures. Afterwards, they enjoyed African games in front of the Aula and participated in a fun cultural quiz.
The Grades 5–12 gathered in the Aula later in the morning. Their programme also included a lively fashion show, followed by a cultural quiz that tested and delighted the learners with questions.

The DHPS Kinder‑Campus joined the festivities with its own fashion show, a warm and colourful bring‑and‑share with parents, and energetic performances by a dance group and the brass class. The youngest members of our school community contributed with great excitement and pride.

Everywhere on campus, one atmosphere stood out: joyful, colourful, united. Our Cultural Day once again reminded us how enriching diversity is – and how powerful it becomes when we celebrate it together.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved, especially the Interact Club, teachers, educators, parents and learners for creating such a memorable day.

Together, we celebrated the cultural richness that defines the DHPS.
