Basketball Camp 2023

The Basketball Artists School & DHPS recently hosted a three-day basketball camp from Saturday, 29 April to Monday, 1 May 2023 at the Deutsche Höhere Privatschule (DHPS).

The OTB Basketball Camp offers three days of intensive basketball training and playing, including basic and advanced skills training, conditioning, contests, and tournaments, and offers players between 6 and 18 years of age the chance to win special awards for outstanding performances.
The 4 camp stations were ball handling, lay ups, shooting, and passing. Group and station coaches deliberated to determine the winners at the end of the three days.
Speaking to the camp Head Coach Mantius Amukoshi, he had this to say: ‘’We wanted to really make this year’s camp more competitive by doing more games and contests over the three-days to really test the players’ competing ability to determine who wins. Awards such as Leadership remain a very important part of the award ceremony as these remind the players to stay grounded despite battling one another for the other awards’’.

This year´s winners were:
  • Most Valuable Player Junior Female: Precious
  • Most Valuable Player Junior Male: Arlindo Manuel
  • Most Valuable Player Senior Male: Elisha Cambara
  • Most Valuable Player Senior Female: Etuhole Hango
  • Best Shooter Junior: Angelo Martin
  • Best Shooter Senior: Alex Dishena

  • Leadership Award Senior: Jaedyn Mumba
  • Most Improved Junior: Atreyu Cramer
  • Most Improved Senior: Conner Pendaris
  • Defensive player: Tumelo Engelbrecht
