DHPS Big Walk 2022
On 25
June, our Big Walk finally took place after two years again. Despite the
freezing temperatures – it was -9 degrees when we started - it was a great
event. You could literally feel the joy, excitement and gratitude. Finally we
were outside together again, walking together, chatting, collecting stamps and
enjoying refreshments....
Although
participation this year was limited to grades 4 - 6, many older and younger
learners joined in, because they had missed the Big Walk so much. Along the
route, you could even spot princesses, dogs and little ones in prams.
For
the first time, there was a scavenger hunt for the learners (and their parents)
with interesting facts about pangolins. At the end, a winner was drawn from
each grade.
“Thank
you, thank you, thank you” – with these words, the head of the primary section
expressed her gratitude to everyone who had contributed to the success of the
2022 Big Walk: the janitorial and administration departments, colleagues,
parents and grandparents, learners and especially sponsors and bidders at the
silent auction.
