The DHPS is the only German school abroad in Namibia. One of our main objectives is
to keep up and promote the German language and culture in Namibia. As an integrated
school of encounter the DHPS offers a learning atmosphere which encourages children
and young people of different cultural backgrounds to cooperate and celebrate together
and to respect other lifestyles. In the course of the years the DHPS grew into one of the leading international schools in Namibia. In 2009 the DHPS will celebrate its centenary.
Our teachers: Qualified teachers of Germany and Namibia educate and guide the students of the school.
Our mission: The centre of our work is tolerance, open-mindedness, commitment, willingness to
perform and solidarity. Children and young people growing up in a multicultural
environment are taught to become responsible people who can face the challenges of the
21st century.

DHPS - school of encounter:
We teach children of different mother tongues, different skin colours who are from a
variety of ethnic and social backgrounds.
Variety of languages: Not only German mother tongue children are educated but also children who are from
English, French, Afrikaans, Oshivambo, Nama, Damara and Otjiherero origin.
School leaving certificates: The DHPS offers students the possibility to choose between an international and a
Namibian school leaving certificate: German International Abitur examination (DIAP) we are the first school worldwide to introduce the German International Abitur
examination after only 12 years of schooling. The students can obtain a worldwide recognised international school leaving certificate which serves as an entrance to all the universities around the globe. The Namibian Senior Secondary Certificate alternatively we offer the Namibian Senior Secondary Certificate to our students
the offer to obtain which is an entrance condition for the Namibian and South
African universities.
