The school has the following sports facilities available:

• a double gymnasium
• a grass area of 40 x 50m
• a multi functional area of 50 x 35 m (with PVCcoating for inline hockey
• two basketball fields, handball
• athletics field with 160m track and elevated curves, long jump, high jump and javelin area
• a 25m swimming pool with five lanes

The sports extra-murals are:

• kiddiesports

Sports certificate:

All sports teachers are authorized to approve the requirements of the sports certificate of the German Olympic Sports association (Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund). This contest is held annually.

Championships

• The DHPS participates regularly with the government schools in the “Zone C” championships. At these games the athletes can qualify themselves for the NSSU (Namibian School Sports Union)
• the DHPS participates in the championships of the Namibian private schools
• the DHPS participates in the national swimming gala
• the DHPS holds a swimming gala and the Bundesjugendspiele for Grades 1 to 6 annually, a volleyball tournament for Grades 7 to 12 and an athletics schools championships for grades 1 to 12.
• Sports Olympics takes place every second year, where the hosting schools take turns and the venues differ biannually. The competitions are for boys and girls in three different groups. The sports categories are swimming, games and athletics. The number of athletes is fixed on 48 per team. The next Sports Olympics will take place in Hermannsburg in 2010. Winner in 2006 and 2008 was the DHPS.
