Role of the subject
Technical Skills at the DHPS is regarded a practical subject, comprising the four areas Wood Work, Metal Work, Pottery and Fashion and Fabrics. In all areas the focus is on the communication of true-to-life, practical and esthetic contents.
Organization of the subject
In Grades 5 and 6 the subject is taught in the form of four half-year courses of three periods a week each. This is done according to a specially designed rotation system.
Three courses are established each from two parallel grades and assigned to the individual technical areas.
In Grade 7 the pupils choose a one year course in Wood Work, Metal Work or Pottery according to their likings.
For the time being Fashion and Fabrics is not offered in Grade 7.
