Only a few days before the Olympiad the DHPS was visited by the well-known German slam-poet Bas Böttcher. During a workshop he impressed the head of the PE-Department in such a way that the latter had to express his fears and hopes with regard to the performance of the DHPS in a slam-poem…

Die Olympiade,
Sie kennt keine Gnade,
Sonst wär sie auch sehr fade.
Uns juckts schon in der Wade,
Und es wäre schade,
Wenn wir dort gerade
Nicht noch einmal gewinnen könnten.

Trying to get these mixed feelings under control the team of the DHPS left Windhoek on Wednesday 3 March and travelled via Botswana all the way to Sterkfontein near Harrismith, RSA, which was reached on Thursday 4 March at about 10 am. Break. Nap. Lunch. Relaxed sports activities in the afternoon.

The following day Hermannsburg was reached at around 3 pm. The first part of mission ‘Olympiad’ had been accomplished.
